Individual Trail

South Island / Saanich

30 min driving from Victoria, BC

This is a really nice hike on the trails built by Jim Kinghorn. If you do the loop up Springe Ridge Trail and back down Raven Ridge Trail it makes a nice 5 km hike, but there are lots of other trails in the area to explore. There are lots of wildflowers in the spring and beautiful mossy rocks and Arbutus trees.

From the Munn Road parking lot head down the main trail and then turn left. Keep going and turn right onto the trail with the "Private Property Ahead" sign. Continue on this trail for 1.5 km until you come to a Y-intersection. Turn left and continue until you see the large metal gates at the base of the old driveway. Head up and when you get to the second gate, you can go either way to hike the loop. Right will take you up Spring Ridge Trail, you can then come back down Raven Ridge Trail and before you get back to the gate, take the side trail to the right to see the cabin. The cabin is available for day-use activities only. Take a minute to read all about the cabin and the property in the binder on the table.

  • I did this hike over the weekend and your instructions were spot on! If you just want to get to the cabin I suggest going straight through the second gate and its a couple minutes up on the left hand side. It took approx 1.5 hours to do the loop (in the snow) and it was wonderful. We signed the guest book and will be back here for sure!
